The Ballot Security Committee shall include but not be limited to defending the integrity of the elections to the end that one voted ballot reflects the will of one qualified voter. SD7 Contact: Bill Ely (wisely118@gmail.com)

The Candidates Committee shall meet as needed to research, review, train, and promote non-judicial candidates. SD7 Contact: Terry Wheeler (twheeler1962@yahoo.com).

The Engagement Committee will work to develop and implement programs designed to increase Republican voter turnout and encourage Republican growth and engage in development of a long-term plan for the future of the Republican Party. SD7 Contact: Terry Wheeler (twheeler1962@yahoo.com).

The Financial Development Committee shall focus on raising the money needed to fully fund the Party and its activities and its candidates via memberships, sustaining programs, corporate programs and fund-raising events. SD7 Contact: Chris Hanson.

The Financial Oversight Committee shall have the authority to inspect the Party’s books, records, financial statements and governmental reports to determine that proper accounting controls and procedures are in effect and that the Party is in compliance with the applicable governmental accounting requirements. The Judicial Screening Committee shall meet as needed to research, review, train, and promote judicial candidates. SD7 Contact: Jennifer Chapman (jchapman7@comcast.net).

The Local Government Committee can meet as needed to research and review propositions, bond issues, governmental charters/by-laws changes, tax changes, non-partisan elections, and city ordinances. SD7 Contact: Samuel Marinov (samuel.marinov@gmail.com).

The responsibilities of the Military Partnership Committee shall be to interface with military personnel and the families of military personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corp, Merchant Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard and Texas State Guard. The committee will work to strengthen relationships between the Republican Party and Republican candidates with military personnel and veterans of military service. The Rules Committee shall meet as needed to consider recommendations on changes to the Bylaws, Special Rules of Order or Standing Rules. SD7 Contact: Russell Rush (rushgroup54@gmail.com).

The Training and Development Committee shall develop and conduct a training program for party workers that shall include training in precinct organization, operations and volunteers. SD7 Contact: Bill Ely (wisely118@gmail.com).

The Vacancy Committee shall meet monthly (Regular Meeting) unless otherwise ordered by majority vote of said committee (Special Meeting) to interview and recommend qualified applicants to fill vacant precinct chairmen positions. SD7 Contact: Russ Long (johnrusslong@gmail.com).

The Young Leadership Development Committee will develop and produce a young leadership program for a limited number of Republicans under age thirty-five (35), who have been accepted by application. SD7 Contact: James Buntrock (jamesbuntrock@mac.com).


Republican and Grassroots Clubs

Get involved with local Republican and Grassroots clubs in or nearby Senate District 7.

Cherry Tree Republicans, formed in 1992, a group of like-minded individuals in Northwest Houston led by Lee and Becky James and Kelly and Marcie Fessler began meeting to talk about forming a new conservative organization. In the beginning, they met in the home of the James’ followed by a series of meetings in the home of Dr. Gene and Reina Fontenot. As a symbol of honesty and truthfulness, they chose to name the club Cherry Tree Republicans. Soon afterward, Newt Gingrich issued his “Contract with America” and conservatives became determined to work together to claim a Republican majority in both houses of Congress. The timing for such an organization was perfect.

Cy-Fair Republican Women’s main objectives include promoting and informing our electorate through political education, as well as increasing the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government through active political participation. We continue to stive to promote the principles of the Republican Party by promoting our candidates in all elections, including non-partisan elections.

Cypress Republican's mission is to serve as a foundation of strength for the Republican Party. We are committed to actively engage in grassroots efforts, both locally and statewide, that can insure the election of our conservative candidates and the preservation of our nation!

The Cypress Texas Tea Party will work to return the United States of America to the conservative constitutional principles on which the Republic was founded. These principles include freedom and liberty for the citizens. We can achieve this through limited government and less government spending.

The Heart of Tomball Republican Women aim to create a welcoming environment for like-minded conservatives to meet and deliberate current issues and advocate, promote, and maintain the principles of conservatism in and around the Tomball area.

2nd Amendment

Gun Owners of America (GOA) is a non-profit lobbying organization formed in 1976 to preserve and defend the Second Amendment rights of gun owners. GOA sees firearms ownership as a freedom issue.
