The 89th legislative session in Texas drew to a close earlier this week, and Texans for Strong Borders celebrated two huge wins:
These bills are heading to Gov. Greg Abbott's desk for final approval. You can count on Strong Borders to fill you in on any developments with these bills, and dig into whether or not they are actually enforced once they become law.
But this session wasn't all successes despite what some lawmakers may report when they head back to their districts...
Two of our top priorities this session — universal E-Verify and repealing in-state tuition and state financial aid for illegal aliens — were killed in the legislature. Because of this failure, Texas will go without these key policies for another two years.
Note: the in-state tuition and state financial aid for illegal aliens has been address by the Trump Adminstration and Attorney General Paxton, as unconstitutional.
